Job Description

This role is a 6 months (extendable) contract position offering £350-£450 per day (Outside IR35) initially remote.

Security Engineer to be responsible for AWS cloud security, troubleshooting network access and implementing security policies and procedures for the organization

Ideally having 6-8 years of experience in Security domain. This should include configuring, managing and troubleshooting security devices/services, ideally in AWS cloud.

 

Responsible for:

  • Installing, administering, and troubleshooting network security solutions, ideally in AWS cloud.
  • Configuring and supporting security tools, such as firewalls, WAFs, IDS/IPS, Nessus and anti-virus software.
  • Knowledge and experience of cloud security engineering and/or architecture.
  • Experience of AWS products and services (VPC, SG, NACL, TGW, AWS Inspector, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, SSM, Security hub, AWS guard duty & AWS config etc).
  • Reviewing logs from Security devices and taking necessary actions.
  • Updating software with the latest security patches and ensuring the proper defences are present for each network resource.
  • Performing vulnerability and penetration tests, identifying and defending against threats, and developing disaster recovery plans.
  • Configuring security systems, analysing security requirements, and recommending improvements.
  • Monitoring network traffic for suspicious behaviour.
  • Creating policies and authorization roles and defending against unauthorized access, modifications, and destruction.
  • Consulting with staff, managers, and executives about the best security practices and providing technical advice.

 

    Skill Required:

  • 4-5 Years of experience on configuration management and support of Firewalls – Checkpoint/FortiGate/Cisco ASA/Palo Alto Firewalls etc.
  • 2-3 Years of work experience on AWS cloud security services.
  • Should have work experience of implementing and manging IDS/IPS devices from Cisco and Checkpoint etc.
  • Should have good network troubleshooting skills.
  • Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing

Certification

AWS certification will be preferred.
