Job Description

This role is a 6 months (extendable) contract position offering £350-£450 per day (Outside IR35) initially remote.

Security Engineer to be responsible for AWS cloud security, troubleshooting network access and implementing security policies and procedures for the organization

Ideally having 6-8 years of experience in Security domain. This should include configuring, managing and troubleshooting security devices/services, ideally in AWS cloud.

Responsible for:

Installing, administering, and troubleshooting network security solutions, ideally in AWS cloud.
Configuring and supporting security tools, such as firewalls, WAFs, IDS/IPS, Nessus and anti-virus software.
Knowledge and experience of cloud security engineering and/or architecture.
Experience of AWS products and services (VPC, SG, NACL, TGW, AWS Inspector, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, SSM, Security hub, AWS guard duty & AWS config etc).
Reviewing logs from Security devices and taking necessary actions.
Updating software with the latest security patches and ensuring the proper defences are present for each network resource.
Performing vulnerability and penetration tests, identifying and defending against threats, and developing disaster recovery plans.
Configuring security systems, analysing security requirements, and recommending improvements.
Monitoring network traffic for suspicious behaviour.
Creating policies and authorization roles and defending against unauthorized access, modifications, and destruction.
Consulting with staff, managers, and executives about the best security practices and providing technical advice.

Skill Required:

4-5 Years of experience on configuration management and support of Firewalls – Checkpoint/FortiGate/Cisco ASA/Palo Alto Firewalls etc.
2-3 Years of work experience on AWS cloud security services.
Should have work experience of implementing and manging IDS/IPS devices from Cisco and Checkpoint etc.
Should have good network troubleshooting skills.
Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing

Certification

AWS certification will be preferred.
